This beautiful two-story villa is a reminder of American influences in Philippine architecture. A former United States colony, the then Commonwealth of the Philippines adopted a number of American values but the country, despite its colonial history, fought hard to retain its own identity. While the immaculate white paint on Balay Puraw’s facade is reminiscent of the many government buildings that the Americans built, its Ilocano elements offer a striking and surprising balance.
Furnished with exquisite Ilocano furniture and several artworks done by Filipino artists, this lovely house can be your home while you are in the northern part of the Philippines.
Balay Puraw has a good view of the chapel and Plaza Manzanilla. To its west is Currimao’s shoreline.
